ISLAMABAD – Khawaja Haris, counsel of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif,Thursday continued cross-examination of Panama Papers Joint InvestigationTeam (JIT) head Wajid Zia, witness of the National Accountability Bureau(NAB) in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference.
Accountability Court II Judge Arshad Malik conducted the case hearing.
During the course of proceedings, Zia informed the court that the reportunder question was made on the basis of financial statements that were notaudited by Aldar Audit Bureau. “The JIT did not contact any officer of theAldar Audit Bureau to obtain financial statements,” he added.
“The Aldar audit report for Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain is from 2010-2014.Contact details of the person, who has prepared the report, are present inthe document,” Zia told the court.
Khawaja Haris then questioned Zia about the date when the Hill MetalEstablishment became operational. In response, the latter said he couldonly answer the question after going through the record.
