Fawad Chaudhry, Dr Shireen Mazari come under organised cyber attack

ISLAMABAD – Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Minister for HumanRights Dr Shireen Mazari come under organised cyber attack.

The Wikipedia pages of both the leaders came under organised attack whenmalicious details were repeatedly added on them.

Ultimately the Wikipedia pages were locked by the online encyclopedia afterthe pages were vandalised.

“Different IP addresses were adding libellous material repeatedly andsimultaneously so it appears to be an organised attack. Following theabuse, entries on Chaudhry and Mazari were locked.

Some of the edits made to Chaudhry’s page were regarding Economic AdvisoryCouncil’s Atif Mian appointment and the recent controversy generated by atweet from a PPP leader.

Users had planted libellous material on his page to incite hate andreligious intolerance. According to Saqib, the vandalism began on September 4 as users changedChaudhry’s religion, image and other details.
