ISLAMABAD – Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan, Jean-FrancoisCautain called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and PM designateImran Khan at Bani Gala.
He congratulated Imran Khan on his historic victory and discussed mattersof mutual interest with the incoming prime minister.
PTI leader Asad Umar and Core Committee member Dr. Shahzad Waseem were alsopart of the meeting.
Earlier today, PTI’ parliamentary committee officially nominated Imran Khanas the candidate of prime minister.
The nomination came as the party leaders including Asad Umar, Shah MehmoodQureshi, Chaudhry Sarwar, Shafqat Mehmood, Babar Awan, Azam Swati, FawadChaudhry and others assembled at a local hotel in Islamabad to expresstheir unflinching trust in the leadership of thecricketer-turned-politician.
After the nomination, Imran Khan thanked the party members and expressedthat his 22-year-long struggle had finally paid off.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has secured 116 seats in the National Assembly butdue to the support of independents and Pakistan faction of Muttahida QaumiMovement, it is in a comfortable position to form government at the federallevel.
Moreover, the party has also vowed that it would form a government inPunjab owing to the inclusion of independent candidates who are beingconvinced by the party leader, Jahangir Khan Tareen.
