PTI government responds over serious allegations levelled by Maryam Nawaz

ISLAMABAD – PTI government responds over serious allegations levelled byMaryam Nawaz Sharif.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awandismissed claims by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice PresidentMaryam Nawaz on Saturday, saying they can only be considered authenticafter a forensic audit of the video.

Her statement came in response to a video clip released by the PML-Npurportedly showing an accountability court judge allegedly admitting to alack of evidence against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in theAl-Azizia Steel Mills reference. In December, the accountability courtjudge had sentenced Nawaz Sharif to seven years in prison in the samecorruption case

Referring to the PML-N vice-president as “the niece”, Awan said Maryam hadattempted to misguide the nation after bulldozing ‘her uncle’.

“A baseless story was concocted for their own vested interests to make theinstitutions controversial. It’s not naivety but classic hatred inpolitics,” she added.
