Pervaiz Musharaf announces date for return back to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Chairman All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) General (Retd) PervezMusharraf will return back to the country after Eid-ul-Fitr and willparticipate in party’s election campaign.

This was announced by APML President Dr Muhammad Amjad here on Wednesday ina press conference before ‘Iftar’ dinner hosted by him. APML ChiefOrganizer Sued Faqeer Hussain Bukhari was also there in the pressconference.

APML leadership announced that General Musharraf will return to Pakistanfollowing Eid-ul-Fitr but his final date of arrival will be announced onceSupreme Court (SC) annouce it’s decision in General Musharraf’s appealagainst disqualification to contest polls. Even if SC don’t decide theappeal in his favour, he’ll return to the country and lead his party in theelections.

It was also announced that General Musharraf will contest 2018 electionsfrom four Constituencies including Chitral, Jhang, Gawadar and Karachi. DrAmjad said that APML wants to become part of the political system throughelection process and we don’t believe in any other non-political system. Henegated the rumors about any imminent deal through which General Musharrafto become President of Pakistan. He said that APML would participate in theelections through seat adjustment with its allied parties. In next coupleof days party would announce its final candidates from all over Pakistan.

Dr Amjad told the journalists that on June 1 APML Core Committee had ameeting in Dubai that was presided over by General Musharraf. It wasdecided in the meeting that APML would participate in the elections fromall over Pakistan and would issue tickets to the aspiring candidates onmerit.

Talking about his allied parties Dr Ahmad said that our coalition don’thave a common election symbol.

Therefore we have decided to contest these polls on the basis of seatadjustment wherever we felt it necessary. Our allied parties would contestelections on their own election symbols, Dr Amjad also said. He said thatSC would announce its judgment in General Musharraf’s appeal againstdisqualification for life today on Thursday. Life time ban was imposed atGeneral Musharraf for November 3, 2007 emergency.

Dr Amjad expressed his hope that the apex court would do justice to us. Hesaid that General Musharraf after Eid-ul-Fitr would come back to Pakistanand land at Islamabad International Airport. Faqeer Hussain Bukhari briefedthe media about party’s candidates and it’s preparations for the elections.
