Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahbaz Sharif hasrejected the name of former chief justice Justice retired Gulzar Ahmed ascaretaker prime minister.
In a letter written to President Arif Alvi, Shahbaz said that puttingforward the name of Justice retired Gulzar Ahmed by Prime Minister ImranKhan is illegal. He further stated that the matter of dissolution ofNational Assembly is still in the court.
The Core Committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had proposed the nameof former chief justice Gulzar Ahmed as the caretaker prime minister. Theproposal of former chief justice Gulzar Ahmed comes after President ArifAlvi had sent letters to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Leader of theOpposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif to seek suggestions forthe appointment of a caretaker prime minister.
