*NEW DELHI: *India on Tuesday condemned the killing of civilians at Buchain Ukrainelinkbacked the call for an independent investigation into the incident, thefirst time New Delhi has publicly censured actions blamed on Russian forceslink.
Speaking at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council that was alsoaddressed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyylink, TS Tirumurti,the Indian representative to the UN, described reports of civilian killingsin Bucha as “deeply disturbing”.
“We unequivocally condemn these killings and support the call for anindependent investigation,” Tirumurti said, without naming Russia.
