A two-member fact-finding committee, formed by the Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) to investigate the events that led up to the postponement of thesixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), has submitted their findingsto the PCB.
The panel consisting of two disease experts, Syed Faisal Mehmood and SalmaMohammad Abbas, identified the problems and submitted the report to the PCBChairman, Ehsan Mani. The board will review the report thoroughly beforeannouncing the next step of the procedure.——————————
According to sources, the fact-finding committee believes that there wereseveral lapses from the management and the players that led to thecoronavirus entering the bio-secure bubble. They also revealed that thesituation could have been avoided if necessary action was taken after thefirst positive case was reported.
The report revealed, “The players showed carelessness while being in thebio-secure bubble. Initially, due to the soft attitude of the PCB, theplayers showed negligence.”
“Various private events in the hotel also led to the spread of COVID-19among participants while franchises also could not fulfill theirresponsibilities properly,” the report added.——————————

“If steps had been taken after the first positive case, the situation couldhave been avoided,” the report stated.
The sixth edition of PSL link was postponedafter at least nine players tested positive for the virus. PCB hasannounced that PSL 6 link would resume, butthe dates of the tournament have not been finalized yet.
