As usual and expected, Sharif family gets LHC cover yet again

LAHORE – The Lahore High Court barred the National Accountability Bureau onSaturday from arresting Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz leader Hamza Shehbaz.

The PML-N leader had moved the court for protective bail following whichthe anti-graft body was instructed not to detain the politician until April8th.

Chief Justice Lahore High Court Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan heard thepetition filed by Hamza Shehbaz in his chamber and issued the directives.

Following the orders, the NAB team headed back to the bureau afterhours-long efforts to detain the lawmaker. The NAB officers along with thelawmakers gathered outside the residence of Shehbaz Sharif in Model Town,however, were not able to arrest the politician.

Contingents of police, Rangers and anti-riot force surrounded 96-H ModelTown, a day after its first unsuccessful raid.

A large number of PML-N workers staged a sit-in outside the residence;police and party loyalists clashed as they attempted to enter Shehbazfamily residence.

Speaking to a private TV via telephone, Hamza said that the party Workersshould protest peacefully.
