Pakistan, Iran to boost cooperation in healthcare industry

Pakistan and Iran have recently reiterated their commitment to bolstering cooperation within the health sector. This reaffirmation of collaboration took place during a meeting between Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Nadeem Jan and Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, held in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During this meeting, Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam paid a visit to the office of Federal Health Minister Dr. Nadeem Jan, where they engaged in in-depth discussions concerning various aspects of health cooperation between these two neighboring nations.

Dr. Nadeem Jan, in his remarks, emphasized the enduring and close fraternal ties that exist between Pakistan and Iran. He expressed a strong desire for both countries to draw upon each other's experiences to improve healthcare facilities and protect their populations from diseases.

Moreover, the two sides reached an agreement to enhance collaboration in health research and technical assistance. Pakistan is poised to benefit significantly from Iran's expertise and best practices in the realm of primary healthcare. Dr. Nadeem Jan also expressed gratitude for Iran's generous donation of a Dialysis machine, which will serve the people of Pakistan.

In response, the Iranian Ambassador extended his congratulations to Dr. Nadeem Jan on his appointment as Health Minister and offered his prayers for his success. He remarked that having a globally recognized public health expert as Pakistan's Health Minister holds the promise of tangible improvements within the healthcare sector.
