Caretaker Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunications, Dr. Umar Saif, shared exciting news on Tuesday about an upcoming visit to Pakistan by the CEO of the Scandinavian cellphone manufacturer, Nokia. This significant revelation occurred during a meeting with Wille Eerola, who serves as the Honorary Consul General of Pakistan in Finland and chairs the Finland-Pakistan Business Council.
During this meeting, Dr. Umar Saif emphasized Pakistan's substantial potential for information technology (IT) exports to Finland. He also highlighted that Pakistan is currently engaged in the assembly of Nokia's 4G cellphones. In anticipation of the Nokia CEO's visit, discussions will revolve around advanced technologies, specifically focusing on 5G and 6G.
It's noteworthy to mention that the federal minister for IT had previously announced the government's ambitious plan to introduce 5G technology in Pakistan within a remarkably short timeframe of just 10 months. This development underscores Pakistan's growing role in the global IT and telecommunications landscape.
