Medibank Trust : An initiative for free medical facility lauded

HAFIZABAD: (APP) State Minister for Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar on Monday called upon the business community, elected representatives and members of the civil society to donate generously towards the Medibank Trust so that availability of medicines for poor and helpless patients could be ensured.

Addressing a gathering of bureaucrats, traders, elected representatives and members of civil society, she said that no worship was the greatest than to serve the ailing humanity.

She appreciated Javed Nisar Syed Patron-in-Chief of the Trust for establishing Medibank Trust to provide free medical treatment to the special persons.

She said the government was mobilising its resources to provide better healthcare to citizens and stressed the need for joint efforts of all segment of society to become partner of Medibank.

Earlier, Javed Nisar Syed highlighted the successful functioning of Medibank in eight districts of the country and added that it would start the facilities in 15 districts during the current financial year.

A Letter of Understanding (LOU) has been signed between the Federal Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination for cooperation.

Later, the State Minister inaugurated the Telemed Medicines Clinic in the DHQ Hospital where free medicines and specialists doctor advice would be made available to the patients.
