Former coach of the Pakistan cricket team and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Technical Committee, Misbah-ul-Haq, has said that we need to understand that there is no interference of the Technical Committee in the selection of the national team.
Speaking on a sports channel program, he clarified his recent statement regarding the World Cup squad. He said, "We need to understand the difference between the Selection Committee and the Technical Committee."
Misbah-ul-Haq emphasized that the Selection Committee's job is to pick the team, and there is no interference from the Technical Committee. As soon as the team is selected, everyone starts scrutinizing the Technical Committee's decisions.
He also provided clarification on the resignation of former captain and former Technical Committee member Mohammad Hafeez. He explained that Hafeez resigned because he felt that despite being part of the Technical Committee, his opinions were not being heard, so there was no point in staying on the committee. Mohammad Hafeez's advisory role has been retained, and he will continue to provide services in the future, said ZakaAshraf.
Misbah-ul-Haq further stated, "My approach is different from Hafeez's. According to me, even if I can't bring a 100% change in something, if my input can bring 10% to 15% improvement or if my opinion helps in their work, then that's significant."
