In an effort to tackle environmental and traffic issues, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has taken the step of instructing authorities to impose substantial fines.
Specifically, fines of Rs5,000 will be levied for improper parking and Rs3,000 for individuals washing their cars at home. This decision is part of an ongoing hearing concerning measures to combat smog in the provincial capital.
Furthermore, the court has highlighted that the fines collected will be channeled into the funds of the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) to support water-related initiatives.
In addition to these fines, the Judicial Water Commission has recommended penalties of Rs2,000 for individuals not wearing helmets while riding motorcycles.
