Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam, has traveled to Qatar in the midst of the Israeli invasion of Gaza to meet with Hamas leaders. He is also scheduled to visit Turkiye. Rehman left the country during the night between Friday and Saturday, and the details of his visit are being kept confidential for security reasons.
During his visit, the JUI chief plans to meet with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and former Hamas leader Khalid Mashal. Additionally, he will hold discussions with government officials in both Qatar and Turkiye with the aim of advocating for a ceasefire.
Maulana Fazal ur Rehman's visit is expected to last for one week, and he is anticipated to return on November 11.
There is a possibility that he might also visit Gaza refugee camps in Lebanon or Turkiye. This visit to Gaza follows Rehman's participation in a rally in Karachi, where he expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine. The rally was named 'Toofan-e-Aqsa'.
