PESHAWAR – Pakistan Peoples Party has submitted a no-trust motion against the speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly, Asad Qaisar in the assembly secretariat.

According to media reports, the motions were moved by PPP MPA Fakhar Azam Wazir and PTI’s former party member Ziaullah Afridi separately.

Both the resolutions were submitted on Friday under the sub-clause (C) of clause Article 53 read with Article 127 of the Constitution of Pakistan and sub-rule 1 of rule 11 of the rules and procedures of K-P Assembly.

Explaining the reasons behind the move, Fakhar said that speaker had lost the majority so they had to submit this resolution.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has summoned a session of the provincial assembly on May 14th while fixing the resolution on top of the agenda.

If the resolution is backed by one-third of the assembly members, a secret ballot will be held to re-elect the speaker. The PPP lawmakers require simple-majority to show Qaiser, the door.
