ISLAMABAD:Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal says Pakistan is rising and political stability will help country win a place among top 25 economies of the world by 2025.
Talking to media men at Multan on Saturday, he said that the country witnessed record development in current tenure of the PML-N government. The gross domestic product growth rate is continuously improving. Last year, it was 5.3 per cent, and now it has jumped to 6 per cent.
Ahsan Iqbal said the government successfully eliminated the menace of terrorism, electricity load-shedding and strengthened country's economy.
Ahsan Iqbal said that NATO supplies had badly damaged country's road infrastructure and the government paid special focus to improvement of the infrastructure in the country.
The minister said that CPEC was only piece of Paper which has now developed as reality and billions of rupees have been invested in the project.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a game-changer and Pakistan will be a regional hub of trade. Referring to huge investment under the CPEC, he said that billions of dollars are being spent on improving the country’s energy sector.
He said that now the time has come that we start taking pride in a rising Pakistan. He said that 1600 kilometers motorways have been constructed by PML-N government. He said that length of total motorways will raise upto 2200 kilometers which shows that Pakistan is achieving numerous speed in development.AFP
