US Secretary of Defense James Mattis has recognized Pakistan's sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
This was stated in a statement of the American embassy in Islamabad after the Defense Secretary's meetings with the Pakistani leadership.
It said James Mattis emphasized the vital role that Pakistan can play in working with the United States and others to facilitate a peace process in Afghanistan that brings stability and security to the region.
