QUETTA: Governor Balochistan Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai (Retd) said that along with efforts taken to eradicate social evil of drug use from the society, strong measures needed to ensure rehabilitation of drug addicted persons.
He expressed these views while meeting Commander Anti-Narcotics Force Balochistan Brigadier Aqib Nazir Chaudhry who called on him in Quetta today.
Brigadier Aqib Nazir Chaudhary in a briefing apprised Governor Balochistan about the performance of his department and discussed the comprehensive strategy planned to eliminate use of drug from society and educational institutions.
He said that in order to revive passion for living healthy life in youth, special awareness programs have to be organize in all educational institutions.
“The primary responsibility and the main purpose of the anti-narcotics department is to establish a drug-free and healthy society”, He added.
Governor Balochistan in this meeting said that in order to eliminate the curse of drug, it is important to pinpoint the elements involved in this rampant business and also emphasize on full-fledged legal action against them.
Governor Balochistan underlined the need to launch awareness campaign against drug use to reduce its demand among youth, highlight steps for free treatment of drug addicts and transform them into pragmatic citizen.
“Drug abuse and addiction lead to a complex set of social, medical and economic problems with serious implications”, the governor said.
Governor Balochistan on this occasion applauded the efforts of ANF and assured full cooperation and support to the province’s educational institutions to purge this social evil of drugs abuse.
