ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has invited the Japanesebusinessmen to invest in Special Economic Zones created under ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor.
He was talking to the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister ofJapan Kentaro Sonoura who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The Foreign Minister briefed the Japanese side on CPEC and assured thatJapanese investors will be facilitated in all fields of interest.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan regards Japan as a close friend and akey economic partner. He said that government was focusing onsocio-economic uplift of the people of Pakistan and furthering regionalpeace and stability.
The Japanese National Security Advisor expressed his earnest desire tofurther strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and his country inthe days to come.
He said that Japan recognizes the efforts and sacrifices rendered byPakistan in fight against the menace of terrorism.
Foreign Minister appreciated Japan’s acknowledgement of sacrifices andcontributions made by Pakistan in the global fight against terrorism andJapan’s commitment to work closely with Pakistan in this regard.
Both sides expressed firm resolve to further increase high levelinteraction between the two countries. They exchanged ideas on enhancingcooperation in political, defense, economic and commercial sectors. ShahMehmood Qureshi welcomed the upcoming sixth round of Joint GovernmentBusiness Dialogue scheduled to be held on December 10, 2018, in Tokyo andhoped for concrete outcome of the meeting.
