The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Zaka Ashraf, hasannounced a reward of PKR 1 million for Pakistan’s batsman Fakhar Zaman inrecognition of his outstanding performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup2023 match against New Zealand at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Fakhar Zaman, a left-handed opener, scored an unbeaten century, making 126runs from 81 deliveries with eight fours and 11 sixes. His remarkableperformance secured a 21-run win for Pakistan under the Duckworth Lewis(DLS) Method, and he became the fourth player in World Cup history to hit10 or more sixes in an innings.
This victory has put Pakistan in contention for qualification in the ICCCricket World Cup 2023, with hopes pinned on defeating England, New Zealandlosing to Sri Lanka, and Australia or South Africa defeating Afghanistan.
