Pakistan among top three countries in OIC Robotics Challenge Competition

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has been ranked among top three countries in OICRobotics Challenge.

The 1st Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Robotics Challenge washeld in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 27 October to 31 October.

The event was arranged by COMSTECH, the Ministerial Standing Committee onScientific and Technological Cooperation of the OIC, in collaboration withthe OIC General Secretariat, Islamic Development Bank (IDB), and Ministryof Innovative Development of Uzbekistan.

The OIC Robotics Challenge took place in the UZEXPOCENTRE exhibition centerin Tashkent during INNO week to explore innovative ideas.

The competition was divided into two categories; Robo Sumo and RoboFootball.

The teams participating in these two categories consisted of three membersfrom 17-23 years of age. Each team had a choice to bring along a managerwith them.

More than 400 participants from OIC member states showcased their skills inthe competition.

Ali Raza of NUST and Usama Naseer of COMSATS represented Pakistan in theRobo Sumo competition.

Moreover, Muhammad Awais Khan, Muhammad Ahmad Ali, Abdul Waqas and MuhammadAmmar Hassan from Lahore Garrison University (LGU) demonstrated theirabilities in the Robo Football competition.

Pakistan finished 3rd in the Robo Football competition.

1st place: Jordan

2nd place: Uzbekistan

3rd place: Pakistan
