ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan says Pakistan will like to follow themodel of China in poverty alleviation and eradication of corruption to putthe country on the path of progress and development.

Addressing Pakistan Trade and Investment Conference 2018 in Shanghai onMonday, the Prime Minister said China has progressed to great heights underthe visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping.

On poverty alleviation, the Prime Minister said China has achieved in thelast thirty years which no country could achieve so far and that is lifting700 million people out of poverty. He said Pakistan will follow the modelto alleviate poverty from the society by taking similar steps.

Referring to overseas Pakistanis, the Prime Minister said they are ourgreat asset and have always responded to a call to the nation.

He said our government is making efforts to lure back Pakistani skilledworkers and businessmen in order for them to play an active role in thenational development. He said we want Pakistani businessmen to first investin Pakistan.

He said our government has a priority to make it easier for overseasPakistanis to make the transition back to country.
