PTI sends loud and clear message to ECP

The PTI spokesperson has stated that the Election Commission has 34 daysremaining to hold elections, as per the constitutional requirement thatelections must take place within 90 days after the dissolution of theAssembly.

The President of the country has also suggested a date of 9th November forthe elections. According to the PTI spokesperson, a ninety-dayconstitutional period for holding elections is a vital mandate, andtampering with the Constitution in any article or section equates toundermining the entire Constitution, which is a serious offense.

In cases of premature dissolution of elected assemblies and untimelydissolution of assemblies, the Constitution clearly lays out theprovisions. The Constitution mandates that if elections are avoided withinthe ninety-day timeframe, then both the Election Commission and theCaretaker Prime Minister, along with their cabinets, would be in violationof Article 6.

The Chief Justice has the authority to halt any attempt to undermine theConstitution beforehand, and the Election Commission and the CaretakerGovernment would be bound by the Constitution. Attempts to deprive thepublic of their voting rights for an indefinite period will not be acceptedby the nation in any circumstances.
