The Pakistan cricket team faces a threat of a terrorist attack. Pakistanhas warned India about this and demanded complete security for the Pakistancricket team in Ahmedabad.
Foreign Office spokesperson, Zahra Baloch, said that the host countryshould ensure the safety of our cricket team during the World Cup. Creatinga conducive environment is the responsibility of the Indian government.
She stated in a weekly briefing that Pakistan is in contact with India forvisa issuance as the Pakistanis are in touch with India for visaarrangements to participate in the World Cup. As hosts, India should notobstruct Pakistani cricket fans from watching the World Cup. They hope thatvisas will be issued for Pakistanis to witness the ICC Cricket World Cupand that politics will not interfere with sports.
She mentioned that the Trans-Himalayan Forum was initiated to enhancegeographical connectivity and environmental preservation. Foreign MinisterShah Mahmood Qureshi addressed the Trans-Himalayan Forum and also met withthe Chinese Foreign Minister, discussing CPEC and mutual diplomaticrelations.
