Pakistan’s coach, Mickey Arthur, sees a certain aura surrounding his WorldCup team as they step onto Indian soil after a seven-year hiatus. Despiteinitial concerns about political tensions, Pakistan received a warm welcomein Hyderabad.
With only two members of the 15-man squad having previously visited India,Arthur believes this unfamiliarity adds to the intrigue surrounding the1992 champions.
Pakistan’s last appearance in India was at the 2016 Twenty20 World Cup.
Arthur expressed confidence in receiving a warm reception in India andattributes some of the fascination to the Indian public’s love for cricket, especially the opportunity to witness players like Babar Azam, ShaheenAfridi, Mohammed Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, and Shadab Khan, who aren’t oftenseen in Indian cricket.
