A meeting was held under the supervision of the Caretaker Finance Minister,Dr. Shamsad Akhtar, to discuss the country’s economic situation.
The Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) provided a briefing tothe Treasury with board members.
According to sources, the Chairman of the FBR briefed on measures to curbsmuggling and also discussed revenue collection. Amjad Zubair stated thatthere is no proposal currently under consideration to impose new taxes,emphasizing that the imposition of taxes on agriculture is the prerogativeof the provinces.
