Pakistan has implemented a measure to combat the illicit importation ofgoods into the country. Under the Afghan transit trade agreement, aprocessing fee of 10 percent has been levied on specific imported items, asper a customs department notification issued by the Federal Government.
This fee, calculated as 10 percent ad valorem based on the goods’ originalvalue, is required to be paid in advance during the declaration process forAfghan transit commercial goods.
It’s worth noting that goods declarations submitted before October 3 areexempt from these new regulations.
The affected items encompass confectioneries, chocolates, footwear, variousmachinery, blankets, home textiles, and garments.
