ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court on Friday has announced the verdict in thesuomoto case of the APS Peshawar terrorist attack.
SC has ordered the formation of a judicial commission to probe the the 2014Army Public School (APS) carnage in Peshawar in which 131 school childrenand 10 other were killed.
The commission will be formed by the chief justice of Peshawar High Court(PHC) and will be led by a senior judge. The commission has been given sixweeks to submit the report on the matter.
The chief justice of Pakistan had taken the suo motu notice on the matterearlier this year during his visit to apex court’s Peshawar registry afterthe parents of the martyrs demanded a judicial inquiry.
The parents, then, highlighted that there were intelligence reports aboutpossible attack on an army-run school in Peshawar, adding that no actionwas taken to prevent the deadliest attack.
