LAHORE – Federal Government has seeked explanation from the DG Rangers Punjab within 72 hours over the uncalled for deployment in the NAB court.
State minister for the interior Talal Chaudhry has said on Wednesday that the interior ministry has sought an explanation from Pakistan Rangers to be filed within three days.
While conversing in television programme ‘Nuqta-e-Nazar’, Chaudhry said that inquiry into the issue was completed within hours and that the action is not against any person or instituion but to ensure the supremacy of the law.
He said that Islamabad chief commissioner dispatched the inquiry report to the ministry and no civil department sought deployment of Rangers at the judicial complex.
Interior minister Ahsan Iqbal was barred to attend second hearing of corruption reference against Nawaz Sharif in an accountability court in the federal capital and was made to return from the main gate earlier this week.
The minister lashed out in a media interaction on his way back vowing to resign if he was made a puppet minister. He said that Rangers, if were to be deployed, the ministry had the prerogative.
