On Tuesday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) granted approval fora significant restructuring within the Sindh police department, following arequest made by the provincial caretaker government. The officialnotification outlined several key appointments aimed at enhancing the lawenforcement landscape in Karachi and surrounding regions.
Among these changes, Grade-21 officer Khadim Hussain Rind was appointed asthe new Chief of Police for Karachi, while Syed Asad Raza took up the roleof Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in South Zone Karachi. This reshuffleextended further, appointing Asim Khan as DIG West Zone, Ghulam Asghar asDIG East Zone, Tariq Razzaque as DIG Hyderabad Range, and Tanveer Alam Odhoas DIG Mirpurkhas Range.
This development occurred swiftly following the Sindh Services, GeneralAdministration & Coordination Department’s response to the ElectionCommission of Pakistan’s communication regarding officer transfers andpostings.
The department not only replied to the ECP’s letter but also submitted alist of names for approval in the context of postings.
