PSL franchises owners make a new demand from the Pakistan Cricket Board

OSLAMABAD – The Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) ownersto make a new demand from the Pakistan Cricket Board over the rights of thefranchises.

Owners are expected to meet the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) Ehsan Mani to convey their grievances on Monday. The meeting whichwill take place in Lahore is expected to be a heated affair.

The franchises are expected to request indefinite rights to theirrespective teams. The current deal grants them the rights for a 10 yearperiod.

Owners argue that they are building up their respective brands and if forsome reason their contracts are not renewed, all their hard work will go towaste.

The PCB seems to agree with the principle of this request. The ManagingDirector (MD) of the PCB Wasim Khan in a recent interview suggested givingthe rights of the PSL franchises for at least 30 to 40 years.
