Former CMs of IOK warn India of dire consequences over revoking special status of Occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD – Former Chief Ministers of Occupied Kashmir warns India of direconsequences over revoking special status of Occupied Kashmir.

Former chief ministers of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK), Omar Abdullah andMehbooba Mufti, have warned that the decision to revoke Article 370 willhave ‘dangerous’ and ‘catastrophic’ consequences.

The two former CMs, who have been placed under house arrest, condemned theIndian government’s decision to revoke Article 370. In a statement issuedafter the government moved a proposal to scrape Article 370 in theparliament, Abdullah said that this decision by the Government of India(GOI) will have ‘dangerous consequences’.

Abdullah also vowed to challenge the ‘illegal’ and ‘unconstitutional’decision of the GOI. “A long and tough battle lies ahead. We are ready forthat,” he added.

Mufti also took to her twitter handle and wrote that it was the darkest dayand the people who had put their trust in in the Indian Parliament havebeen deceived. She further said that scraping Article 370 is illegal andunconstitutional, which ‘will make India an occupational force in Jammu andKashmir’.

“Government if India’s intentions were clear. They want the territory ofJammu and Kashmir by terrorising the people. India has failed Kashmir inkeeping its promises,” she added. Mufti further said that India’s decisionwill have ‘catastrophic consequences for the subcontinent’.
