KABUL – The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have arrested fourfemale members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Khurasan (ISISK) innorthern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan.
The Security Director of Jawzjan Security Commandment Abdul Hafiz Khashiconfirmed that four female ISIS Khurasan members have been arrested inDarzab district, Khaama Press has reported.
Khashi further added that the suspects were arrested from Darzab districtas they were attempting to flee to Shebarghan city.
He also added that the women are originally hailing from Baghlan, Kunduz,and Samangan provinces of Afghanistan and are currently in the custody ofthe security forces.
According to Khashi, the detained women have confessed during thepreliminary investigations that they were members of the ISIS Khurasangroup.
The anti-government armed militant groups including ISIS Khurasan loyalistshave not commented in this regard so far.
This comes as nearly two hundred militants of the terror group surrenderedto the Afghan forces in Jawzjan province last week.
