*LAHORE – Former PML-N MPA from Punjab Mian Naveed Anjum has accused formerrailways minister Saad Rafique and former National Assembly speaker AyazSadiq of asking him to give Rs30 million for a party ticket.*
I told them that I can spend money on elections, however, I cannot fillsomeone’s pocket with my hard earned money, said Anjum. He said Rafiquealso misbehaved with him when he refused to pay them. “He told me that allyou Arains are frugal and never want to spend any money.”
Anjum said that he decided not to contest the polls despite receivingassurances from Hamaz Shahbaz that he would resolve the matter.
The PML-N leader said he was later offered a ticket to contest electionsfrom PP-158 against PTI’s Aleem Khan. “It’s not easy to return a PML-Nticket from Lahore, no one does that,” he said, adding that he did it outof self respect.
