LAHORE – Meesha Shafi is promptly ordered to reply to a Rs1 billiondefamation case filed against her by Ali Zafar. A sessions court onThursday received no reply by the singer cum actress even though she wasearlier expected to respond by July 5. Additional Sessions Judge ShehzadAhmed further on went to say that the court’s notice seeking her reply bepasted on the gate of her residence.
Meesha has been granted time till August 13 to submit a suitable reply. Theprevious hearing was held on June 25 in which July 5 was decided to be thedate the defendant had to respond on. Due to her silence on the matter, sheis given another time slot to adhere to.
Ali stated in court, “Meesha levelled false allegations of harassmentagainst me for publicity. My name has been tainted worldwide owing to herfalse allegations.”
In April this year, Meesha claimed Ali sexually harassed her despite herbeing the established lady that she is today. Ali Zafar had sworn to takethe matter to court. The suit, claiming damages of Rs1 billion, was filedunder the Defamation Ordinance 2002.
