For the first time in history, Pakistan’s Foreign remittances and exports hit 55 billion

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib saysvolume of remittances and exports is expected to reach 55 billion dollarsby the end of current fiscal year.

In a video message today (Friday), he said prudent policies of thegovernment have pushed the economy in a right direction.

Farrukh Habib said current account deficit is in surplus and our exportshave increased by 13 percent this year.

He said Large Scale Manufacturing has expanded to nine percent as well assignificant sales of tractors and cement were also recorded.

The Minister of State said the government is taking steps for the welfareof common people. He said there are 34 programs continuing under theumbrella of Ehsaas initiative aiming at poverty alleviation and socialprotection.

Criticizing PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Farrukh Habib said it isunfortunate that Sindh government has done nothing for the welfare ofcommon people. He said PPP’s government in Sindh has only been focusing oncorruption for last 13 years.
