ISLAMABAD – The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Sunday stated that Ramazan willbegin from Tuesday in Pakistan as the moon was not sighted in any part ofthe country.
The session of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to sight moon was presided overby Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman whereas the huddle was held in the Karachi.
Earlier, Pakistan Meteorological Department had forecasted possibility ofmoon sighting on May 6, however; it was not the case.
An official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmonyearlier told APP that other members of the committee had attended Zonal andDistrict Ruet-e-Hilal Committees at their respective places.
Ramazan will begin in Saudi Arabia and other parts of the Middle East onMay 6 whereas an official announcement from Bangladesh, India and otherAsian countries is still pending.
Likewise, Muslims residing in USA and parts of Europe will also begin keepfasting from April 6.
