ISLAMABAD – PM Imran Khan holds important telephonic call with AfghanPresident Ashraf Ghani.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani agreed torealise the true economic potential of the two countries for assuredsocio-economic development, alleviation of poverty, and welfare of the twopeoples.
They also agreed to make efforts for availing the geographic locations ofAfghanistan and Pakistan to enhance regional connectivity during atelephonic conversation on Sunday, according to a statement issued by theForeign Office.
The two leaders exchanged views on matters relating to peace, security andprosperity in Afghanistan and the region, it added.
Prime Minister Imran stated that the spirit of brotherhood definedPakistan’s approach towards Afghanistan. The prolonged Afghan conflict haddamaged Afghanistan and adversely affected Pakistan over the past manydecades.
For the sake of the two peoples, the aim of the leadership should be tohelp build peace, promote economic progress, and advance connectivity forregional prosperity, he maintained.
The premier reiterated his vision for finding a peaceful solution inAfghanistan, fully owned and led by the Afghans themselves. He underlinedthat Pakistan will spare no effort to advance the common objectives ofbuilding peace in Afghanistan and having a fruitful bilateral relationshipbetween the two brotherly countries.
