Over 3.7 crore families across Punjab to benefit from Sehat Insaf Card

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar says the government is strivingto provide best health facilities to the masses.

Addressing Sehat Insaf Card distribution ceremony at Attock on Sunday, hesaid 1,11,000 families of Attock district can benefit from this initiative.He said a cardholder can get medical treatment of various diseases free ofcost up to over seven hundred thousand rupees through this card atdesignated private and government hospitals.

He said about 37 million families throughout Punjab are benefiting fromthis initiative, which has so far been launched in 18 districts of theprovince. He said a 200 bed mother and child hospital and nursing collegewill be established in Attock and these projects have been included in thenext budget of the province.

He said district and tehsil level hospitals will be upgraded with maximumhealth facilities to serve people of the area. Usman Buzdar said, besideshealth facilities, new land record centers will be established in Attockand development projects costing over four billion rupees for the districtare also on the cards.

The Chief Minister said Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology will beconverted into a state of the art research center for heart relateddiseases.

Usman Buzdar said that the government believes in equal development of allareas of Punjab. He said government is going to introduce a new localbodies system to resolve people’s problems at their door steps. He saidlocal bodies across Punjab have dissolved and administrators appointed topave way for the new system.

He said 22,000 village councils will be established, across Punjab, underthe new system and 40 billion rupees will be disbursed through them. Hesaid in urban areas, municipal committees will serve the people.

Earlier, speaking on the occasion Prime Minister’s Advisor on ClimateChange Malik Amin Aslam said the government is making all out efforts toprovide best health facilities to the people.
