PESHAWAR – Pakistan Peoples Party has submitted a no-trust motion againstthe speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly, Asad Qaisar in the assemblysecretariat.
According to media reports, the motions were moved by PPP MPA Fakhar AzamWazir and PTI’s former party member Ziaullah Afridi separately.
Both the resolutions were submitted on Friday under the sub-clause (C) ofclause Article 53 read with Article 127 of the Constitution of Pakistan andsub-rule 1 of rule 11 of the rules and procedures of K-P Assembly.
Explaining the reasons behind the move, Fakhar said that speaker had lostthe majority so they had to submit this resolution.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has summoned a session of theprovincial assembly on May 14th while fixing the resolution on top of theagenda.
If the resolution is backed by one-third of the assembly members, a secretballot will be held to re-elect the speaker. The PPP lawmakers requiresimple-majority to show Qaiser, the door.
