Budapest: Five people were killed and more than 10 injured as a traincarriage derailed after being hit by a pick-up truck in southern Hungaryearly on Tuesday, said police.
The unfortunate incident happened at a crossing in Mindszent near theHungarian-Serbian border shortly before 0500 GMT.
Reportedly, the pick-up truck drove onto the tracks, ignoring the redlights. The truck was registered in Hungary and was carrying local workers.
All of the victims were passengers in the van.
As per official statement, there were 22 passengers on the train, two wereseriously injured and eight suffered minor injuries.

Local news site delmagyar.hu showed a photograph with the train carriage onits side, and a helicopter ambulance and several ambulance cars at thescene.
In the meantime, the state railway company said the train was on its wayfrom Kiskunfelegyhaza to Hodmezovasarhely before being smashed with atruck. APP/AFP
