ISLAMABAD- Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed on Friday to condemnongoing state terrorism and violence in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
A resolution to this effect was adopted in an emergency meeting of thefederal cabinet held in Islamabad on Monday last with Prime Minister ShahidKhaqan Abbasi in the chair.
Rallies, functions and walks would be held in different parts of thecountry as well as by Pakistanis and Kashmiris living around the globe toexpose Indian atrocities and highlight the need for peaceful resolution ofthe longstanding dispute.
Radio Pakistan’s correspondent says the Government has decided to initiatea number of measures to apprise the international community about gravehuman rights violations by Indian occupation forces.
Special envoys would be sent to selected world capitals to highlight Indianatrocities in the Occupied Kashmir.
World bodies like the United Nations and the Organization of IslamicCooperation, and other human rights organizations will also be approachedin this regard.
Following special cabinet meeting, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi visitedMuzaffarabad and addressed the AJK Legislative Assembly and Azad Jammu andKashmir Council.
He emphatically stated that Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with itsKashmiri brethren in their just struggle for the right toself-determination.
He said the government, the people and all political parties are united onKashmir issue and will continue to extend moral, political and diplomaticsupport to the Kashmiri brethren.
