ISLAMABAD – CPEC Authority Chairman reveals new positive development uponCPEC Phase two in Pakistan.

CPEC Authority Chairman Lt Gen (r) Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that aftersuccessful completion of phase one, the country is gearing up for thephase-II of the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridorproject.

Bajwa envisioned CPEC phase II to generate massive employment opportunitiesfor Pakistanis. Asim Bajwa, tweeting from his fresh Twitter handle for thefirst time on Tuesday, said the CPEC project with across the boardacceptability, is already bringing relief in energy and infrastructuresectors.

“Time to gear up for phase-II which is envisioned to generate massemployment through more projects, mass industrialisation, agricultural andsocio-economic uplift,” he wrote.

The statement comes a week after Prime Minister Imran Khan directed allconcerned ministries to set goals for schemes and ensure inter-governmentalcoordination for early conclusion of phase two of the multibillion-dollarproject.

“The projects should be finalised on the basis of socioeconomic developmentand be completed at the earliest,” the prime minister said while chairing ahigh-level meeting held to review the progress on various projects underthe CPEC last week.
