ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sought a revision in taxtarget due to the shortage of revenue in the first seven months ofFinancial Year 2018-19.
An FBR Inland Revenue member, during a media briefing on Monday, said thatthe tax department has asked the finance minister to revise the tax targetdue to the shortage of revenue in the first seven months of FY19.
IR (Operation) member Seema Shakil said that the department had collectedRs2,060 billion in the first seven months against the target of Rs2,251billion, adding that in January, revenue collection was recorded at Rs270billion.
She explained that the department collected Rs621 billion in the head ofincome tax, which was lower by Rs8.7 billion when compared to the firstseven months of the last fiscal.
