RAWALPINDI – In yet another incident of police gardi, a 23-year-old boywas tortured to death in police custody on Monday.

As per details, police had arrested a 23-year-old boy namely Rehan aliasSanu from his house in Ganj Mandi police precincts over allegations ofliquor and tortured him to death.

The family of the deceased and area residents surrounded the police stationand staged a protest demonstration against the police.

The protesters chanted slogans against the police.

The brother of the deceased, Imran, said Rehan was a drug addict but not adrug seller, adding that his brother died due to police torture.

Meanwhile, afraid of protest, police closed the doors of the police station.

On the other hand, police officials said that Rehan was detained on chargesof liquor but was taken to hospital when his condition worsen where helater passed away.

The officials said that the autopsy report would clear the reason of hisdeath.
