ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Television (PTV) is the first channel of Pakistan. Atits pinnacle, the channel has graced us with several golden dramas that westill love and cherish. There was a time when PTV was a favorite among thehouseholds. Tanhaiyan, Dhop Kinarey, Aahan, Waris, Sunehray din and manyothers were some of the iconic dramas that made our 80s and 90s beautiful.
With the advent of private channels and with the passage of time, PTV haslagged behind. However, as the former MD of PTV, Arshad Khan has returnedto the state run channel, the channel is like likely to progress. We sawimprovement in the channel even when he was previously appointed. Inaddition, Khawar Azhar has been reappointed as the new head of content andmarketing.
The highly professional management of PTV is now gearing up to give toughcompetition to private channels. The channel has just partnered up with afeature film, Gumm. This is the first time that PTV has partnered up with aprivate venture, previously PTV has been collaborating with ISPR.
While the film Malik was not a private film, but it did collaborate withPTV, however it was never premiered on PTV. Malik only saw promotions onPTV whereas Gumm will be the first film to see a TV premiere.GUMM to see TV premiere on PTV
Gumm is being released on 11 January and will be the first film to hit thescreens in 2019. The channel has acquired exclusive rights for its TVPremier.

The film stars Sami Khan, Shameen Khan and Shamoon Abbasi. The film hasbeen produced and directed by the husband and wife duo Ammar Lasani andKanza Zia. Ammar Lasani specializes in direction and his wife has done amasters in cinematography.
Gumm is an internationally acclaimed film that has won several awards. Itwas awarded the best screenplay and Sami Khan recieved the bestinternational actor in a foreign film at Madrid Film festival.
Talking to Epk, Sami Khan previously told us that the film has gotten avery positive response at various platforms. He is hopeful that the filmwill receive a good response in Pakistan too.
