Pakistan to respond back hard in case of any US misadventure on its soil

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has declared that it would give a befitting responseto any American action in country’s settled areas.

Asked what would be Pakistan’s response if the US conducted drone strikesin settled areas of Pakistan, the FO spokesperson said the military hadalready stated that “any such actions would get a befitting response.”

Questioned why Pakistan did not respond strongly to US President DonaldTrump’s accusations, he said: “The National Security Committee of thecabinet is the highest forum and has come out with a comprehensivestatement which fully covers our response to President Trump’s(anti-Pakistan) tweet.”

Addressing the weekly media briefing on Thursday, Foreign Officespokesperson Dr Mohammed Faisal said Jammu Kashmir Liberation FrontChairman Yasin Malik’s letter to Indian external affairs minister “bearswitness to the Indian gimmickry and the situation of human rights in Indianjails.”

The spokesperson said Pakistan was clear and not “confused like India”which has put “travel restraints on sportsmen and general public visitingfor religious purposes.”

He said that Pakistan believed that the dialogue was the ultimate mode ofresolving disputes. To another question regarding India’s arms build-up,the spokesperson said Pakistan had always maintained that anti-ballisticmissile systems entail instability in the region and provoke armed race.

He said Pakistan was desirous of a peaceful neighbourhood in whichcountries utilised their resources for the betterment of the common maninstead of squandering them in a futile arms race.

Dr Faisal said Pakistan was fully committed to and has proposed to Indiasome restraint measures to promote strategic stability.
