Senior journalist shot dead in Pakistan

In a tragic incident, senior journalist Nisar Lehri was shot and killed in the Gul Kand area of Mastung, Balochistan. Police officials confirmed that Lehri, who served as the secretary of the local Press Club, was killed in connection with a land dispute.

In response to the killing, Faiz Durani, President of the Press Club, demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible. SP Mastung also stated that raids are currently being conducted to apprehend the suspects involved in Lehri's murder.

This incident follows a similar attack last month in Ghotki, Sindh, where another journalist, Bachal Ghuniyo, was shot dead by unidentified armed men. Ghuniyo, who was associated with Awaz TV, was attacked in the Rawanti area of Ghotki.

After carrying out the killing, the assailants managed to escape. The body of the slain journalist was later transported to Ubauro Hospital. Police suggested that an old enmity might have been the motive behind Ghuniyo's murder.
