In Islamabad, a Session Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with a case involving the recovery of arms and liquor.
During the hearing, the court dismissed Gandapur’s request for an exemption from appearing on medical grounds. The case was presided over by Judge Shaista Khan Kundi, who ordered the SHO of Bhara Kahu police station to arrest Gandapur and present him in court the following day.
Previously, the court had summoned KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur in relation to the arms and liquor recovery case. The District and Sessions Judge also requested answers to nine specific questions from Gandapur and instructed him to appear in person before the court.
It is noteworthy that on October 30, 2016, the police claimed to have recovered weapons and liquor from Ali Amin Gandapur’s car. According to the police, his car was stopped and searched at a checkpoint on Rukhsana Bangash Road while he was en route to Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala. The search reportedly led to the discovery of weapons and ammunition in the vehicle.
The seized weapons, which included four Kalashnikov rifles, ammunition, a tear gas gun, and bulletproof vests, were displayed at the Bara Kahu police station in Islamabad.
